Smart Notifications¶

We've added a personalized notification system that helps patients stay on track with their exercise plans through timely, relevant reminders and celebration messages.
What's New¶
Personalized Workout Reminders¶
Patients now receive smart workout reminders via push notification or email. Instead of generic messages at fixed times, the system learns when each patient typically exercises and sends reminders at the right moment — before their usual workout time.
Reminders adapt to each patient's engagement level. A patient just getting started receives welcoming, encouraging messages, while a patient on a long streak gets celebratory reinforcement. Patients who haven't exercised in a while receive gentle, low-pressure check-ins.
Workout Celebrations¶
After completing a workout, patients receive a congratulatory notification. Streak milestones (5 days, 10 days, 25 days, and beyond) get special recognition to reinforce consistency.
Patient Controls¶
Patients can customize their notification experience from the mobile app:
- Timing mode — Choose between automatic smart timing, a fixed daily time, or turn notifications off entirely
- Intensity — Select minimal, normal, or motivational notification frequency
- Quiet hours — Set hours when no notifications should be sent
- Per-type toggles — Enable or disable specific notification types (workout reminders, streak milestones, doctor messages, etc.)
For Clinic Administrators¶
Administrators can manage notification settings per clinic from the admin panel:
- Configure notification policies (cadence limits, quiet hours, AI content settings)
- Override settings for individual patients when needed
- Preview and send test notifications to verify content and delivery
- View analytics on notification performance and suppression rates
How It Works¶
The notification system runs automatically in the background — no action is needed from therapists. Patients will start receiving notifications once the feature is enabled for their clinic.
Notifications are sent via push notification (if the patient has the mobile app) or email (as a fallback). The system includes built-in safeguards to prevent notification fatigue: it won't send reminders if a patient has already completed their workout, is currently exercising, or has reached their daily limit.
This feature is enabled per clinic. Contact your account manager to turn on smart notifications for your practice.
